The Riverhouse is known as the restaurant that defines the Phnom Penh Riverfront. The Riverhouse legacy began in early 2000 in a tastefully restored French building on the Quay as an al-fresco brassiere with an intimate ambiance and the simple concept of “serving fine cuisine in relaxed elegance by the river.” The formula was an instant success and within 6 months the Riverhouse became one of the most popular restaurants in town. When the idea of the perfect evening needed to be taken one step further, the American and Thai owners decided to “take things up to the next level
” - transforming their scenic upstairs apartment into a classy cocktail lounge directly above the restaurant.
The Riverhouse Lounge opened in 2002 to another warm reception from both local and expatriate residents of a country desperate for a safe and classy nighttime venue. The Lounge introduced live music, an extensive bar featuring international wines, cocktails and single malt whiskeys, a pool table and dance floor. Now the perfect dinner could be followed by drinks and entertainment – taking the whole riverfront area from hip to hot overnight.
